Restaurant Tax Defense ("Restaurant Tax Defense," "we," "us," or "our") is a marketing brand operated by UpForce Media, LLC ("UpForce Media"). We connect individuals with independent, licensed tax professionals and other providers ("Partners"). We do not provide legal, tax, or accounting services. Restaurant Tax Defense is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the IRS or any other government agency. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect on this website (the "Website") and by phone, how we use and share it, and your choices. By using the Website, submitting your information, or calling a number shown on the Website, you agree to this Privacy Policy. Our Terms and Conditions explain the rules for using the Website.
Restaurant Tax Defense is a marketing and matching service, not a tax firm. We connect consumers with licensed tax professionals, enrolled agents, CPAs, tax attorneys, and tax resolution companies. We do not provide tax advice or services directly. When you submit your information or call, you are asking to be matched with one or more Partners, who may contact you directly.
Information you provide. Your name, email address, phone number, state, information about your tax situation or finances (for example, the type of tax issue or the amount owed), and anything else you choose to share. If you give us information about another person, you confirm that you have the right to do so.
Call information. When you call a number shown on the Website, we, our call-tracking providers, and Partners may collect your phone number, the date, time, and length of the call, a recording of the call, and what is said.
Automatically collected information. Your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, and how you interact with the Website.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar tools to collect this information and improve your experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Consent verification and session recording. To verify the consent you give on our forms, we use TrustedForm or a similar service. These tools may record your interactions with the Website, such as the information you enter, clicks, and scrolling, and issue a certificate showing the page and disclosure you saw when you submitted.
When you submit your information or call, we may share your name, phone number, email address, state, information about your tax situation, call details (including recordings), and other details you provide with one or more current or future Partners, our affiliates, our marketing partners, and other providers who may contact you directly. We require Partners to use your information only to offer their services and to comply with applicable privacy and telemarketing laws, and we work only with Partners that meet our licensing and compliance standards.
Your information may be shared with multiple Partners at the same time, and with third parties that promote other financial and business offers. We may continue to store and share your information over time, including if your inquiry is not immediately fulfilled, unless you opt out as described in Section 14. We are paid by Partners for these connections. Under some state laws this sharing may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and Section 13 explains your rights.
Your consent to be contacted is given through the disclosure shown next to the button you click to submit a form, as summarized in Section 7 of our Terms and Conditions. You may revoke your consent at any time by replying STOP to any text, using the unsubscribe link in any email, or telling the company that contacts you. We will honor your request for our own calls, texts, and emails. Partners are independent businesses, and each Partner has its own process for honoring opt-out requests, so you will need to tell each Partner directly.
Calls to numbers shown on the Website may be routed to a Partner. Calls may be recorded, monitored, and analyzed by us, our call-tracking providers, and Partners for quality, training, and compliance purposes. The Partner who answers a call is responsible for telling you at the start of the call that it may be recorded. We may share the phone number you call from and other call details with Partners.
Service providers. We may disclose personal information to companies that help us run the Website and our business, such as hosting, customer-relationship, call-tracking, analytics, messaging, and consent-verification providers. They are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
Legal compliance and protection. We may use or disclose personal information as needed to comply with laws, legal processes, or government requests, to protect our rights, safety, or property and that of our users, or to enforce our Terms and investigate violations.
Business transfers. If UpForce Media is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or similar transaction, your personal information may be transferred as part of it. We will notify you by email or a prominent notice on the Website of any change in ownership or control of your personal information.
We keep proof of your consent, including TrustedForm certificates, for at least five (5) years, as required by applicable telemarketing regulations. We keep other personal information, including call recordings, for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as the law requires. UpForce Media owns the data it collects and may keep and use anonymized or aggregate information for analytics, compliance, and marketing optimization.
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information and keep it confidential. No security measure is perfect, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your own devices and accounts as well.
Legitimate tax relief providers will not ask for payment solely to find out whether you qualify for services. If you receive a suspicious request, contact us immediately.
The Website may link to third-party websites that we do not own or control. This Privacy Policy applies only to the Website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites, and we encourage you to review their policies before sharing personal information.
Our services are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Kentucky, Rhode Island, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have the right to:
Because we may collect information about your financial circumstances, tax debt, or hardship status, that information may be "sensitive personal information" under some state laws. You may limit our use and disclosure of it to what is necessary to provide the services you requested. Sharing your information with Partners, as described in Section 4, may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under these laws, and you may opt out as described in Section 14.
We recognize and honor Global Privacy Control signals from browsers and devices that send them, as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email help@restauranttaxdefense.com with the subject line "State Privacy Request." We will verify your request and respond as the law requires, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.
You may opt out of our sharing your personal information with Partners and marketing partners at any time by emailing help@restauranttaxdefense.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share," or by clicking the opt-out link in any email from us. Opting out stops our future sharing. Partners that already have your information handle it under their own policies.
We do not intentionally market to people outside the United States. If you are outside the U.S. and want to exercise data rights under your local law, such as under the GDPR or PIPEDA, email help@restauranttaxdefense.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date, and we encourage you to review it periodically. We keep prior versions on file.
